Hon. (Mrs.) Lynda Hennang Shekinah Barau was born to the Family of Mr. Zakka Bala of Jannaret village of Gindiri District in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State on the 8th August, 1968.

Hon. (Mrs.) Lynda Barau bagged her Master Degree in Business Administration from Nasarawa State University, in the year 2014. Mrs. Lynda worked with the National Directorate for Employment (NDE), the work she started in 1993 and was there until 18th December, 2015 when she was appointed Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development by His Excellency the Executive Governor of Plateau State and Captain of the Rescue Team: Right Honourable Simon Bako Lalong. This made her a member of Plateau State Executive Council.
